A good biography of Dr. Drake, 1785-1852. He was born in New Jersey; in 1788 the family moved to Mays Lick, Kentucky. He was a professor at Transylvania University and at Louisville Medical Institute, and he founded the Medical College of Ohio, now the U. of Cincinnati College of Medicine, in 1819, and the Commercial Hospital and Lunatic Asylum, now the U. of Cincinnati Hospital in 1820.
