- Commandant of Cadets, and Professor of Higher Mathematics, Kentucky
Military Institute.
Son of William Clark, who, with Meriwether Lewis, made an exploration to the
Rocky Mountains and Pacific Ocean, 1803-1806.
Churchill Downs, where the Kentucky Derby is run, was founded by Meriwether
Lewis Clark, Jr. (Born January 27, 1846, suicide by pistol,
April 22, 1899).
