Herman Haupt, USMA 1835

Born:    March 26, 1817, in Philadelphia.

Died:     On December 14, 1905 on a Pullman car named "Irma" while traveling from New York to Philadelphia. He was 89 years old.

• Professor of Civil Engineering and Architecture in Pennsylvania College, Gettysburg, PA, 1840.
•         .  .  . and of Mathematics, 1844-1847.
• Degree of A. M. conferred by Pennsylvania College, 1837.

Genealogy:

His son, Lewis Muhlenberg Haupt, graduated from USMA in  1867 (Cullum #2162) and was Professor of Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania, 1872-1892.
