Died July 8, 1902 at Geneva NY, Aged 72.

He was the youngest man in his class and first captain.

 

After the war, in 1865 he moved to Suspension Bridge, NY, where he was Instructor in Mathematics and Tactics at De Veaux College. He continued there until 1870 when he moved to Geneva NY and became a lawyer.

Suspension Bridge was incorporated June 8, 1854 and is about two miles below Niagara Falls. The bridge was started in 1852 and finished in 1855. John A. Roebling was the chief engineer.

 

De Veaux College for Orphan and Destitute Children opened May 20, 1857. Funded through the will of Judge Samuel De Veaux (De Voe).
