Charles Geddings Rogers, USMA 1854

Born September 24, 1830, at Ashville, North Carolina

Died, February 24, 1888, at Nashville, TN, age 57.

His roommate was J. E. B. Stewart.

In 1809, Wurtemburg Academy was started on land which was originally part of North Carolina and later became part of Tennessee. This school was renamed Giles College in 1849, for it was in Giles County, TN. A web site listing Graduates of West Point serving in the CSA Army by CPT W. Gordon McCabe [From the Richmond, Va., Dispatch, March 30, April 6, 27, and May 12, 1902] contains very little information about Rogers.

A notebook at the Clements Library in Ann Arbor, MI, deals with travels in 1865. No mention of mathematics and I doubt there is any.
