Albert E. Church

Taught at USMA 1828-1831 and 1833-1878.

Church graduated first in the USMA class of 1828 and immediately joined the faculty. His wife was
the daughter of Colonel Jared Mansfield.

the State College of New Jersey; M.A. 1837), and Yale (honorary doctorate 1852) and find out
what the citations contained when Church received honorary degrees. Might they have other files on

Genealogy:

Church had only one daughter, Margaret Augusta Church ( - 1904). She married Matthew Marsh Blunt, USMA 1853, on October 14, 1857. Their only child was Albert Church Blunt. He was born May 21, 1859 at West Point and graduated from USMA in 1881 (#2893). He is buried at West Point
